About Come From Away at Sobey Family Theatre At Confederation Centre Of The Arts
This play draws inspiration from the true story of what transpired when numerous flights were instructed to touch down suddenly in the little village of Gander Newfoundland during the incidents of the tragic day of September 11. This production was written by Irene Sankoff and David Hein. The musical is crafted by Irene Sankoff and David Hein, a pair from Canada who are also spouses. Significantly, the show was co-created by Irene Sankoff and his partner, who are both a couple and have partnered on several projects. The musical has led to a documentary film that further explores its messages; in fact, the production has sparked curiosity in the history and culture of Newfoundland and Labrador as an area.
