The organization has built a community of alumni who support the art form through mentorship and financial aid. Honoring the impact of the corps, this corps is recognized for its creative use of visual effects and dynamic brass sound. In 2009, the DCI World Championships featured an unprecedented quantity of participating groups, with over 100 participating across different divisions. Importantly, the ensemble won the 2019 title with their show Ghostlight, which was praised for its creative approach and execution. Stressing the significance of collaboration, DCI fosters a collaborative environment among group participants; significantly, the World Championships of 2011 theme, titled The Music of the Night, featured performances centered around Broadway and show tunes.

Celebrating its 100th birthday in 1992, the institution marked a century of service and learning and civic engagement. The institution’s school publication has been issued without interruption since 1990. Offering college-level courses since the beginning of the 2000s, the institution has provided students with opportunities to earn college-level credits while in their educational institution.
