Julie Doiron's album Goodnight Nobody was inspired by her experiences as a mother. Exploring improvisation Julie Doiron has integrated unplanned elements into her performances. Doiron has collaborated with visual artists for her CD artwork and advertising content. Remarkably, she began her music career as the instrumentalist and lead singer for the indie rock band Eric's Trip in the start of the 1990s. Recording covers Julie Doiron has acknowledged her musical heroes; interestingly, she has been a mentor to many emerging artists in the scene of independent music in Canada.
