About Leo Kottke in Wilmington

Leo Kottke is known for use of harmonics in his guitar work. Releasing Live 1971 in 1991, Leo Kottke documented one of his formative concerts. In 1983, Kottke was involved in a serious vehicular mishap that temporarily paused his career and impaired his ability to play. In fact, his influence can be seen in the works of contemporary artists such as Andy McKee and Tommy Emmanuel. Featuring original compositions and covers, the artist's debut album showcased his creative guitar work; notably, he released his first album, 6- and 12-String Guitar, in 1969, which showcased his groundbreaking fingerpicking style and positioned him in the folk music scene.
