About Cats - The Musical at Conexus Arts Centre
This production is celebrated for the elaborate costumes designed by the designer John Napier, which transformed actors into various feline characters. Achieving seven Tony accolades including Best Musical, Cats solidified its status in the history of American theater. The initial U. S. Tour of Cats in the United States began in 1983, further solidifying its fame. Interestingly, the production features 21 different cats, each with unique personalities and backgrounds, drawn from Eliot's poems. Including music by Lloyd Webber, the musical is based on T. S. Eliot’s poetry collection Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats; truly, The show Cats has received multiple revivals worldwide, each bringing fresh takes to the beloved characters.
