Welcoming the University of Nebraska at Kearney football team as its main occupant, the stadium has been a foundation of local sports culture. The first night game at Duncan Field was played on the 12th of June, 1935 under recently added lighting. Hosting the 1989 Kearney High School Graduation, the venue celebrated an important occasion in the lives of numerous graduates.
