Supporting movement investigation The Odissi center contributes to the educational exploration of traditional Indian performing arts. The ensemble's ' The tragic demon' performance explores the magical creature's involvement in the queen's kidnapping, a doomed character in the Ramayana. Interestingly, the Dance Collective was established in 1990 by Gauri Bedi, an one-time model turned Odissi artist, in a rural area near Bengaluru, India. Training artists in the traditional Gurukul system Nrityagram secures the safeguarding of classical dance traditions; interestingly, the designation of the Odissi troupe means 'dance village, ' representing its initiator's aspiration of a society devoted to the art of dance.
