The Gerry Rodeo is regarded as a community ritual for community members, with children and grandparents participating annually. In 1982, the first film about cowboy traditions and lifestyle was launched globally, In 2007, the first combined mobile result platform was released for instant results and analysis. The Gerry Rodeo has produced several prominent rodeo athletes who advanced to participate nationally and internationally. Involving local artisans the organization includes regional artists and local artwork during the event.
Gerry Rodeo at Gerry Rodeo Grounds
Gerry Rodeo Grounds is the location where the record for largest number of bull riders in the early 2000s with 150 cowboy competitors. Gerry Rodeo Grounds hosted the National Finals Rodeo Qualifier in 1974 which crowned regional champions for the country-wide rodeo network. The Gerry Rodeo Grounds has been recognized for its eco-friendly practices including renewable energy and rainwater harvesting setups. The venue has a dedicated youth rodeo program that has trained distinguished riders since 1985. Reserved seating is assigned to ticket buyers ahead of the event, guaranteeing a designated location for attendees. Standing room only tickets are typically the most affordable, allowing entry to the location when the event is at peak attendance. From the east side of town, follow the markers along Tenth Street heading west, then make a southern turn onto Fairview Road. Take the scenic route via Mountain View Road, then turn onto the lane leading to the grounds where the venue is located.
