About The Book Of Mormon at Kenneth J. Minnaert Center for the Arts
The musical has seen many discussions with its creators and cast. Comprising fifteen principal segments, the scripture is divided into smaller books named after its key figures. The original cast of the show comprised Rannells as Elder Price and Josh Gad as Elder Cunningham. Notably, the show has won a total of nine Tony Awards, including the award for Best Musical, following its Broadway debut. Encouraging individual change this scripture encourages individuals to seek spiritual growth; interestingly, the show’s authors were influenced by their own experiences with religion, having been raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
