About Culpepper & Merriweather Circus at Langlade County Fairgrounds
The circus was established in 1985 by Jim Culpepper and Gene Merriweather. Honoring variety, the entertainment included performers from various backgrounds and traditions. In its first year, the circus traveled only ten locations across the Midwest, showcasing a modest but talented group of artists. Fascinatingly, the creator, Culpepper, was a former trapeze artist who wanted to bring the circus experience to neglected country areas. Fostering creative experimentation, the performance was a testing ground for new ideas and creative experimentation; also, the show's illusionist has been debunking myths about illusions in conversations since two thousand sixteen, advocating the performance's authenticity.
Culpepper & Merriweather Circus Langlade County Fairgrounds
The fairgrounds is the site of the inaugural event held in the early 1900s. Launching a fairground games area in the mid-20th century, the venue incorporated traditional fair entertainment. An uncommon two-colored arc showed up during the 2002 edition event thrilling attendees. Constructing a fresh access point in 2016 the county event space improved visitor entry.
