Dickens wrote the story partly in response to the legislation regarding the poor; interestingly, the story's emphasis on togetherness and fellowship has inspired numerous holiday events.
Legacy Theater At The Ruth and Nathan Hale Theater
Legacy Theater in the city's cultural district is the place where a well-known artist taught a seminar to area students. The theater's first three-dimensional display was experimented with in 2010 during a visual effects seminar. The Legacy Theater at the Hale Cultural Center was inaugurated on the 15th of June, 1985 with an extravagant celebration featuring performances by homegrown and acclaimed talents. A commemorative plaque was placed in the playhouse's entrance hall in 2000 recognizing the contributions of its establishers Ruth and Nathan Hale.
