Here Lies Love was developed over several years, with workshops and readings taking place before its official premiere. Moreover, the musical's creators have spoken about the challenges of managing entertainment with historical education. Here Lies Love's design team visited the Philippines for research; interestingly, 'Here Lies Love ' is a musical concept album and later a stage musical, created by Byrne and Fatboy Slim, released on April 6, 2010.
