About Dracula - The Musical at Nocturne Theatre
Dracula - The Musical costume design was by Zuber, who also won a Tony Award. The show's lighting design by Howell Binkley was acclaimed for creating a haunting mood. Before Broadway, Dracula - The Musical had a preliminary staging at the La Jolla Playhouse in 2001. Interestingly, the show's battle sequences included a dramatic blade battle between Dracula and Van Helsing. The musical's orchestra was conducted by the conductor who also served as musical director; moreover, 'Dracula - The Musical ' was part of a wave of adapting historic books into musical theatre in the 2000s.

Nocturne Theatre is the first to host a '24-hour Play Festival' where performances are written and presented in a single day. The theatre's first audience choice award was presented in 1985 to an area scriptwriter. On November 15, 1927 the Nocturne Theatre staged its first silent film premiere highlighting 'The Phantom of the Opera ' with a live orchestra. In 1930, Nocturne Theatre was the site for the historic meeting of the municipal cultural board, leading to the creation of the annual arts festival.
