About Daniel Barksdale's The Family Reunion at Odeon Theatre At Greensboro Complex
The musician's The Family Reunion was the first play Barksdale wrote that included music. This project is aiming to challenge traditional narratives through its storytelling. On the 12th of September, 2019, Barksdale embarked on his first national tour, 'The Family Reunion Tour ', covering numerous stops across the U. S. Interestingly, the director's script for the show was optioned by a large production house before he decided to produce it independently. The digital curator is developing a virtual museum for The Family Reunion's artifacts and stories; additionally, the show's opening sequence was designed by Barksdale in person, reflecting his attention to detail.
Odeon Theatre At Greensboro Complex
The historic venue At Greensboro Complex is famous for its vintage Art Deco light fixtures which were refurbished during the 2010. In 1985 the Odeon Theatre became the first venue in the state to stage a performance by the musical group the Irish rock band U2 during their tour supporting the 'Joshua Tree' album on 19th November 1987.
