About Frozen - The Musical at Rochester Civic Theatre
The production was inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale The Snow Queen. Honoring the legacy of its film counterpart, the stage adaptation preserves the core emotional themes. The first movie's success led to a sequel, Frozen II, released in late 2019, which also inspired a theatrical version. Indeed, the production has hosted several special events, including those for philanthropic causes and local involvement. Including music and lyrics by Kristen A. -L. And Lopez, the show builds on the music from the film with fresh compositions; importantly, the song In Summer, sung by Olaf the lovable snowman, provides humorous moments while also showcasing the character's childlike wonder and gullibility.
Rochester Civic Theatre
The theatre is the site of the Annual Fundraising Gala which supports the organization's activities. Presenting the first performance of the play 'Our Town' in 1952, RCT prepared the way for its rich tradition of productions. In 1963, the theater shifted to its present site at the SE location on Civic Center Drive, which was a substantial enhancement in infrastructure.
