The youth version emphasizes the importance of togetherness and collaboration, a theme present in the first. Surprisingly, the younger adaptation promotes innovation in performance, allowing for various interpretations by assorted learning centers and ensembles. Containing musical numbers like the title song and the comedic song the children's edition keeps many of the beloved musical numbers; indeed, the production's length is greatly shortened in the children's edition, making it more fitting for school performances.

The theatre hosted the 2019 staging of 'A Midsummer Night’s Dream' performed by the Wilmington Shakespeare Festival in an engaging, highly acclaimed production. In 2014 the venue held a fundraising performance featuring Wilmington jazz performers that raised over twenty thousand dollars for arts education programs in local schools. The outdoor theatre program was started in 2016, utilizing the neighboring open-air area for summer theatre productions. The performance space backstage areas were upgraded in early 2010s to include current comforts such as climate control and new backstage lighting which improved safety. High-End Balcony Seating are located in the top balcony with premium amenities. Standard Balcony seats are the primary balcony area, offering decent sightlines at a reasonable rate.
