The historic venue is where the celebrated artist Gould gave one of his last public performances. Presenting the inaugural Montreal performance of Aida by Verdi, Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier brought majestic opera to the city. The first musical drama performed at the venue was the opera 'Aida' on 21st of September, 1963. Being a venue for period dramas the auditorium has hosted events that recreate historical moments.
