About Beauty and The Beast at Sheas Performing Arts Center
Beauty and The Beast was brought back in theaters in early 1990s and once more in early 2000s celebrating its 10th anniversary. Featuring a financial backing of a $25 million budget, the animated film was a considerable monetary challenge for Disney at the time. The film was a critical success, earning a ninety-four percent approval rating on the popular review site Rotten Tomatoes. Notably, the film's story is based on the classic French story Beauty and the Beast, written by the author Villeneuve and later adapted by Beaumont. Highlighting the bond between the leading lady and her dad her father, the movie explores family relationships and ties; remarkably, Beauty and the Beast was one of the pioneering animated films to have a profitable merchandise line, including collectibles and apparel.
