About Alberta Ballet at Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium
This ballet ensemble has showcased over two hundred choreographed pieces since its founding. Performing across regions, Alberta Ballet has held performances in many locations across the continent. Alberta Ballet's inaugural performance was held in the snowy months of 1967 at the Calgary's university. In the early 1990s, Alberta Ballet undertook its inaugural international showcase, presenting in the nation of Japan as part of an international arts initiative. Commemorating the influence of dance, Alberta Ballet pays tribute to notable individuals in the ballet world; in 2020, the ballet troupe created a new support program for new choreographers, providing mentorship and assistance for their progress.
Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium
This honorable venue is the site for the annual Arts Champions Luncheon by the Mayor which recognizes contributions to the arts community. Operating as a site for showcases the theater has provided an opportunity for up-and-coming artists. In 1990, the auditorium was the location for an important international cinema opening. Launching in 1957, the Jubilee Auditorium was built to honor Alberta's 50th anniversary of becoming a region. This auditorium's exclusive loge section is a standout instance of innovative space utilization. The Auditorium's Premium Seating offers a close-up viewing experience. The site is positioned just to the east of the Stampede's Rope Square. Travel towards the south on Macleod Road until you reach the SAJA.
