About Columbus Jazz Orchestra at Southern Theatre

Under the guidance of the acclaimed conductor, appointed in two thousand two, the group earned acclaim across the country. Intriguingly, Stripling, the artistic director, was a top trumpeter for the Count Basie's ensemble before becoming part of the CJO. Partnering with famous musicians the Columbus Jazz Orchestra has worked with performers including other jazz legends; furthermore, the CJO has collaborated with famed performers such as the great Wynton Marsalis and Schuur.
