About Million Dollar Quartet at Stolp Island Theatre
The show received a Tony Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a Musical for Levi Kreis who played Jerry Lee Lewis. Showcasing the spontaneous creativity of its members, the Million Dollar Quartet included unscripted shows that blended country, rock elements, and gospel influences. The session was originally intended to be a session for Perkins, but it turned into a spontaneous jam with the other three musicians. Importantly, the cast of the original show included Eddie Clendening as Elvis Presley, the notable Lance Guest as The Man in Black, and Lyons as Lewis. Being produced by the famous musical theater company, the quartet's stage version was created by Floyd Mutrux and Colin Escott; additionally, the show has led to a surge of interest in the lives and careers of the performers involved, sparking new accounts and films.
Stolp Island Theatre
