The ballet troupe is known for its annual fundraising gala called Milwaukee’s Stars Dance which supports its outreach initiatives. Presenting special programming for schools, this ballet organization provides dance education to enhance students' understanding of dance. Milwaukee Ballet has a core group of over 30 dancers, many of whom have developed at the dance academy. In 1980, Milwaukee Ballet became the first ballet organization in Wisconsin to present at the prestigious Jacob's Pillow. Acknowledging the contributions of women in dance, Milwaukee Ballet has featured performances by women in dance in its season repertoire; significantly, the company has an active alumni association, providing support for past performers.

Marcus Center is celebrated for its arts outreach efforts providing the arts to underserved populations.
